In 2009, I traveled to Boma N’gombe, Tanzania to teach art and English at the Shelala elementary school. It was an incredible experience. I have a lot to say about these volunteer organizations and it’s not all good. What remains is my memory of the beautiful children, their generosity of spirit, and what a great time I had spending time with them in the classroom and the yard. Also, Tanzania is stunning.
